Position:
Talent & People Apprentice
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Hourly Rate: First year apprentice rate £5.28 rising to minimum wage for age once completed first year
Location: New Milton, Hampshire Office with potential for hybrid arrangement after 6 months
Start date: ASAP

The Talent & People Apprentice will support the Talent & People team in recruiting high-quality employees is essential to ensuring we remain a highly competitive and diverse business. As a Talent & People Apprentice, you act as a focal point for recruitment and the people team. To be responsible for maintaining the applicant tracking system (InRecruiting) and HRIS (Cezanne) for the purpose of collation and input of candidate and employee data.

The post would be suitable for a candidate entering looking to achieve an Level 3 apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship L3 details:* HR Support Apprenticeship L3, 18-24 months’ duration dependent on individual learner progression (with the possibility of the position being made permanent on successful completion of the programme). Your apprenticeship will take place remotely within our New Milton Offices through the apprenticeship provider Babington. You will have an opportunity to achieve the CIPD L3 qualification as part of your learning programme. Successful completion of this standard will enable you to apply for Associate Membership of the Chartered
Institute of Personnel and Development.

Main Responsibilities and Activities*
1. Recruitment

  • Preparation of job advertisements
  • Reviewing applications and CVs in line with screening matrices.
  • Support recruiting managers with setting up candidate assessments through Test Gorilla (online skills testing and training)
  • Ensure job applicants are kept up to date at all stages of the recruitment process ensuring they are correspondence with at each stage (CV screening, interview booking, after interview feedback if applicable, offer letter etc.)
  • Prepare interview templates/assessment centre documentation for vacancies and coordinate interviews/recruitment assessment centres
  • Support recruitment events at schools, colleges etc.
  • Ensure relevant security screening checks are completed for candidates offered job roles (right to work, employment references, DBS, driving licence checks etc.

2. Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Maintenance*

  • Maintenance and development of In Recruitment (current Applicant Tracking System) and procedures as required
  • Advice to users on In Recruitment including resolving or supporting the resolution of problems related to the operation of In Recruiting

4. General Administration*

  • Ensure the careers and HR mailbox is managed on a daily basis providing excellent customer service
  • Arrange and complete new starter HR welcome inductions and ensure managers create and arrange ‘on the job’ induction plans
  • Review and check all SLAMs (starters, leavers & asset management) completed by line managers ensuring these are accurate before processing in line with payroll deadlines
  • Produce and issue accurate terms and conditions and documentation for new starters, job changes and leavers
  • Ensure monthly reports are sent to key stakeholders across the business
  • To work collaboratively with the rest of the HR team to ensure standard processes and procedures are understood, complied with and amended as required.
  • To support the Head of People in the continuous development of the recruitment function and becoming an employer of choice, ensuring processes and procedures are efficient and consistent.

Essential

  • To be eligible for the apprenticeship you will need the following:
  • Level 2 (GCSE Grade 4 / C or above) in English and Maths
  • NOT already hold a CIPD qualification Level 3 (or above)
  • To have the right to work in the UK and meet the Apprenticeship Funding eligibility criteria
