The Council also successfully supports the local offshore industry which is central to the local economy.
This is an opportunity to join a busy, friendly and professional Commercial Team who are adaptive in their approach to businesses.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and forward-thinking Food and Safety Officer to join the team. Your main responsibilities will include managing your own caseload, the enforcement of food safety legislation in high and medium risk food premises, investigating food complaints and food borne illnesses, food/water sampling, health and safety, ship sanitation certificates, infectious diseases and supporting/advising local businesses.
We are interested in receiving applications from people who are persistent, determined, patient, thorough, pay attention to detail, and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. You will need to be an excellent communicator and have both a professional and personable manner.
Applicants will already hold the Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or CIEH or equivalent. You will meet the Food Standards Agency competency framework requirements detailed in food law code of practice to inspect a full range of premises and you will have health and safety enforcement experience in a local authority.
