We are looking to recruit a Talent & Development Business Partner to lead the CrossCountry Talent & Development agenda. The role will work alongside the HRBP and the Training & Talent teams in attracting, developing, and retaining the right talent and ensuring a continual talent pipeline.

We welcome applications from anywhere in the UK. This role is hybrid, 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office/at depot or on the network.

Purpose of the job

We are looking for a professional and highly motivated person to deliver the learning, talent & development strategy, and associated plans, including all managerial and development programmes and align all training and development strategies to the Group Arriva agenda.

Principle Responsibilities (These are not exhaustive)

  • Develop and deliver the Learning & Development strategy within CrossCountry, localising key initiatives set out by the Group Arriva Talent agenda.
  • Develop a suite of learning and development activities which support talent development in the business, including coaching and mentoring, personal development activities and formal programmes at varying levels.
  • Deliver the talent initiatives outlined in the Annual Business Plan (ABP), including areas within EDI, succession planning and Early Careers.
  • Lead the creation and embedding of talent & performance management tools, including the annual performance cycles, talent pipelines, succession planning and JD reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to build external succession insights, ensuring a full talent pipeline of ready now/ready later talent for all business-critical roles.
  • Collaborate with our in-house Training teams in the development and delivery of high-quality interventions to support the upskilling of onboard and management teams.

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Training

  • Owning and managing people manager curriculum to upskill and develop high quality peo-ple managers.
  • Supporting the roll out of the new Leadership and Manager Expectations Framework.
  • Partnering, influencing, and gathering insights from key stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned to the business needs and cost effective.
  • Partnering with Talent to ensure high quality development plans are in place for all key successors of critical roles.
  • Working creatively to provide leading edge solutions for High Potential talent and critical cohorts.
  • Building relationships and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible solution is developed and delivered.

  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Experience of designing and delivering varied talent programmes in other organisations.
  • Able to identify talent & diversity opportunities for individuals and the wider organisation.
  • Working in a heavily Unionised environment.
  • Effective communicator, managing to tailor messaging to all levels.
