About the role

At the John Lewis Partnership, we’re super passionate about attracting amazing talent to join us on our exciting journey and maintaining an excellent candidate experience, and we’re looking for experienced Sourcers to help us to do this.

You’ll be a trusted partner from the outset - working with the best talent and hiring managers to support them to be proactive, strategic business drivers. The right person will love working with all kinds of people across a range of different industries to source brilliant talent across areas such as tech, finance, HR, digital, marketing, or retail. Often, these difficult markets require innovative and fresh approaches; simply waiting for advert responses isn’t in our DNA. So using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, our ATS (Workday) and a variety of other recruitment technologies, you will work to uncover “unicorn” candidates.

But of course, finding these candidates is only the first step. Our recruitment Sourcers need to be able to articulate the role and EVP in a compelling and exciting way. Providing data and detailed insights to keep leaders in the business updated on the recruitment market will also be crucial. As a part of this, you will need to be highly organised and able to communicate market trends to the business.

In this role you will provide sourcing support to the Talent Acquisition team. You will have a proven track record of mapping top digital talents around the world, nurturing passive talent and converting them into highly engaged candidates within our recruitment process and building pipelines.

Sourcers are akin to recruiters, but different in that they typically are tasked with finding and reaching out to passive candidates. These people are not actively applying but instead need to be discovered through multiple channels and contacted. Sourcers will be great at researching social media, the internet and beyond to find those great candidates. A Sourcer’s role is to find and qualify candidates that are suitable. They would then hand them over to the Recruiter who is responsible for taking those candidates through the end to end process.

You will work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition (TA) Attraction & Sourcing Manager, alongside Talent Acquisition Managers and Talent Acquisition Consultants, sourcing talent for senior, niche or hard to fill roles.

Additionally, you will lean into innovative projects, embed standard methodologies with our broader recruiting community, and help build our “newsroom” approach for sharing external market and talent insights with the organisation to help shape talent decisions.

You will be an expert in absorbing and running with recruitment briefs and skilled in engaging prospective candidates.
