Job IntroductionWe’re looking for an experienced Systems Officer with strong ICT skills and leadership experience to join our Planning team.
The role is pivotal in the development and implementation of an ICT strategy for this important service and will manage a small team to support and achieve day to day tasks.

Role Responsibilities
- Support the Systems Manager on development and implementation of the ICT Strategy for Planning, maximise systems availability, data accuracy, and support business functions
- Provide resilience for the Planning Services Team and wider Planning Service by supporting and Deputising for the Systems Manager
- Support the performance reporting process to ensure the timely availability of performance and business information, based on high quality data, that appropriately and effectively evidences performance across the Directorate
- Supervise a small team of Business Support and Land Charges Staff
- Manage and collate data for Freedom of Information and Environmental Information requests within the Planning Service
- Oversee financial work (invoicing, purchase orders, budgets, etc) related to the Planning Service
Ideal Candidate

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in Information Systems, ICT or designated service area
- Significant demonstrable experience in planning, scheduling, prioritising and organising concurrent ICT and business projects
- Proven ability to work flexibly, manage work with competing demands and deadlines when under pressure
- Proven ability to work with colleagues, managers, elected members and stakeholders
- Proven ability to effectively manage a small team
