We are looking for an analytically minded individual with a keen eye for problem definition to become a member of the Engineering Digital, Data and Analytics team as a Systems Engineer.
As System Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing data-centric solutions that improve site performance and capabilities. You will work with various business areas to identify opportunities and be responsible for designing, developing and embedding solutions that solve problems in the business and define future strategy. You will work on solutions with varying degrees of analytical complexity (from dashboarding to developing machine learning models for predictive maintenance).
In this role you will find yourself a valued member of a small team. We aim to be forward-thinking in our working structure and will promote working in a hybrid fashion in line with company policies. You will have room and support to define your own initiatives and develop both operational engineering knowledge and analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Critically evaluate the scale of problems and ensure solution design is appropriate
Design, develop and maintain smaller solutions using the Microsoft power-platform
Contribute to larger data analytics products developed with python in an agile framework
Display effective stakeholder engagement when identifying opportunities, defining requirements and managing the business change required for embedding solutions
Act as a mentor/subject matter expert (SME) to improve data literacy in the wider organisation
Coach stakeholders where products can be developed/owned by the business
About You:
This role would suit a motivated individual wanting to apply data analytics to real business problems. There is room for a range of operational and analytical experience but a high level of ‘data-literacy’ is required. A penchant for critical analysis and evidence of learning agility is desired.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have an interest/experience in any of the following areas; Data science workflows and machine learning principles, Azure data/analytics products and (or)
Network analyses and graph databases.

Basic Qualifications / Experience:
Familiar with using SQL
Some coding experience, python preferred
Experience developing analytical solutions using data
Engineering or equivalent science-based degree or relevant qualifications/experience
