The EES business unit has world class experts in the provision of real-time embedded systems, specialising in safety critical control systems. To continue to grow the business we are now looking for experienced Model Based Systems Engineers (MBSE) to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:- Translate our customers‘ vision into clear and concise user, business, and product requirements.
- Use MBSE methods to develop product architectures. Decomposing the problem into digestible functional, physical and behavioural chunks.
- Build and coordinate system wide simulations to help us to balance requirements early.
- Work collaboratively with all our engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade studies and resolve engineering issues.
- In addition to project responsibility, you will play a key role in developing our systems engineering capability more widely.
- Owning and delivering on our roadmap towards full integration of model-based systems engineering - including tool selection and customisation, methods development, and training.
- Helping us pivot our focus from products to product platforms to maximise reuse of engineering effort.
- Providing targeted engineering services & consultancy to our customer base to enhance their use of systems engineering or resolve specific technical challenges.
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or have evidence of progress towards Professional Registration with a PEI.
- Experienced in Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environments.
- Ability to communicate intent & practical application of MBSE architectural design approaches for the development of complex systems.
- Experience of using/applying system architecture modelling frameworks & languages.
- Experience of elaborating abstract concepts in an MBSE environment.
- Ability to breakdown conceptual models into individual sub-system & component models.
- Operate effectively on ambiguous early-stage projects.
- Practical, relevant experience in a product development environment performing similar roles.
- Expertise in requirements engineering and system architecture.
- Hands on experience with simulation and systems analysis using tools such as Simscape/Simulink and MATLAB.
- Experience of applying system engineering toolsets and paradigms such as IBM DOORS, MBSE, V & V, etc
- A solid grasp of MBSE including experience building SysML models using tools like Sparx EA.
- A good engineering degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
- Recent delivery experience on a project that implements MBSE.
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Cameo System Modeller, Rhapsody, MATLAB.
