Job description
CACI is currently hiring a Jr. Systems Engineer to work onsite in Dahlgren, VA at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Secret-level clearance required. Experience working with Navy Combat Systems, highly desired.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Create and maintain components of a virtual system.
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems within virtual system in accordance with approved procedures to include: verification of proper operation of the system, optimizing and resolving issues associated with the virtualized environment, and optimizing and resolving issues with load cycling process.
Review/correct and develop effective scripts in BASH, PowerShell, and Python to automate system load cycling and configuration procedure and provide user-friendly scripts to automate routine tasks.
Provide inputs and review documentation pertaining to applicant’s area of responsibility. Applicant will be responsible for writing and submitting for review new procedures as required.
Develop tools to expand insight into the virtual system operation and performance.
More About the Role:
Provide start up and shut down support of the development and deployed systems.
Support delivery, installation, configuration and light off of virtual system.
Report status at internal and customer meetings.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering discipline.
Secret-level clearance required.
Proficiency with Linux Operating Systems.
No prior work experience required. Jobs at this level are focused on self-development. Requires broad technical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
0-3 years of related work experience.
Working knowledge of BASH/PowerShell/Python scripting.
Knowledge of RedHat/RedHawk systems.
Working knowledge of Virtual Machines (VM) specifically VMware ESXi.
