As an Engineering Manager for Stoke you will take full end-to-end ownership of an engineering system playing a pivotal role in shaping Stoke's success. You will work in partnership with the data (science) team to build Stoke into a mature SaaS offering complete with business intelligence and artificial intelligence capabilities. In this role, your team will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and data-scientists to build and optimize our products. Your expertise will drive data-driven decision-making and support critical decisions made by our customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a global team of experienced engineers in a fast-paced startup environment

• Manage a team of global software engineers delivering significant business impact to Artica (e.g. CRM and revenue for Stoke)

• Own overall engineering infrastructure (DevOps) and improve overall development velocity of the team by agile prioritization (e.g. investment infrastructure vs product features), balancing the need for high quality and rapid delivery

• Collaborate with product, marketing, and other team members to drive the strategic vision for Stoke, understand business needs and prioritize engineering efforts accordingly

• Contribute hands on to implementation of critical features through coding

• Participate in user interviews and customer calls, developing and implementing strategies for improving our overall customer experience.

• Develop and maintain best practices for engineering processes, quality assurance, and code management

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the engineering team

• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members to ensure alignment and transparency

Requirements:

• Experience in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment

• Start-up and/or new product launch experience: proven ability to drive a team in a driven, agile manner focused more on product fit than scale

• Experience working on products that are both business and consumer facing.

• Experience with agile methodologies, code reviews, testing frameworks, CI/CD tools, etc.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field is preferred

We are on a mission to build and optimize highly valued e-commerce solutions using science, technology, and progressive testing. We believe the existing landscape for product development and consumer commerce are highly inefficient and will not scale to meet changing consumer needs. Our aim is to accelerate invention by rapidly compressing the product development lifecycle through progressive testing and combining human creativity and machine-learning at the right touch points.

Several factors are taken into consideration that determine the salary range of this role. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $200,000 to $250,000.

The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (except as noted below); the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
