System Architect
Locations: We are recruiting in Crawley, Cheadle (Greater Manchester), Templecombe (Somerset), Reading, Belfast, Glasgow and Bristol.

What’s on offer?
We are looking for System Architects to join the Central Engineering team that are challenged with supporting complex projects across the 15 areas of the business. The primary purpose of this position is to define and implement Systems Architecture strategy, management and tasks for key business projects across a range of domains.
Responsibilities
You'll be supporting one or more projects, in a domain (may be Land, Sea or Air products) and be accountable to the Solutions Engineering Manager on the project/program. As a practitioner/expert in Systems Architecture, you will have a wide range of responsibilities depending on the specific tasks in hand which may typically include the following:
- Provide engineering leadership and guidance and, define the system architecture and the associated process, practices and tools (PP&T) applicable to the product based on project specific constraints (eg tools imposed by the Customer).
- Maintain and improve professional standards – increasing the robustness of engineering governance on the project and act as a guide to the engineering community on solution architecture engineering methods and their application.
- Acting as a technical assessor and advisor and define architecture engineering competency profiles and levels – ideally having relevant professional registration (CEng)
- Be responsible for development of system models, and integration of modelling components from within the supported team and from other project areas
Experience needed:
- Demonstrable ability to produce solution architectures that satisfy customer needs and are compliant to customer requirements; a comprehensive understanding of architecture frameworks, architectural modelling techniques and management processes
- Experience of architectural modelling of Systems, from operational analysis and subsequent system level architecture through to physical level architectures in tools such as Enterprise Architect, Capella, MOOD, Rhapsody etc.
- Ability to clarify requirements from, and present, visualise, interpret and summarise models to a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of requirements capture, decomposition and management (e.g. in DOORS)

- Pension – Thales match, plus 1%, with a max contribution of 7%

- Annual Leave 201 hours + 1 Company day (27 Days + Bank Holidays)
- Annual Bonus or Overtime dependant on grade.
- 37 Hours per week. (Typically Half Day Friday)
