Department overview:
The Fitch Group is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join the Infrastructure Operations team within Fitch’s IT Infrastructure Group. The Infrastructure Operations team performs an essential role at Fitch. Working directly with the Network, Cloud, Database and Desktop Engineering teams to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and maintain our information systems. Our continued growth has created an opportunity for an additional Systems Administrator to join our expanding team. Job Description:
We are looking for a talented technologist who can quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues across a variety of interrelated platforms and technologies. This is a hands-on position supporting business critical systems and foundational tools. The successful candidate will have experience with a wide variety of technologies, be a fast learner with a drive to learn and work with new and exciting technologies. Responsibilities include resolving escalated trouble tickets; preforming server maintenance and updates; addressing security vulnerabilities, assisting in major incident calls relating to software and servers; participating in the implementation phase for projects; developing and maintaining preventative maintenance procedures. Knowledge of Phyton3, Linux, AWS, Restful APIs, and Windows are critical to success in this position. The role interfaces with our partners in the Tech Enablement and Deployment team, the Enterprise engineering team, and the Network engineering team. The Systems Administrator will be a key member of the Infrastructure Operations team and will report directly to the Associate Director of Infrastructure Operations.
Position Requirements:
Experience using the CLI for working with and troubleshooting Linux servers
Experience troubleshooting common issues on Windows servers
Experience with EKS and Kubernetes containers
Experience with global configuration tools such as Ansible or Chef
Experience working with AWS EC2 and security groups
Experience working with AWS services (Route53, RDS, S3, ASG, Workspaces etc)
Experience working with Network Storage technologies (NAS, SAN)
Experience automating tasks with Python3
Experience working with RESTful APIs
Experience working with git and repositories (Github/Bitbucket)
Experience working with network devices via the CLI
Effective problem-solving skills
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog, Zabbix or others
Working knowledge of VMWare
Familiar with management of End Point Protection software
Familiar with Log management systems such as Splunk, Sumologic or others.
Familiar with management of host-based firewalls.
Familiar with Database Systems
Familiar with Backup Systems
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience preferred.
