Academic Systems Administrator (LMS/SIS)
The Art of Education University (AOEU) leverages the market-leading learning management system, D2L Brightspace, and student information system, Campus Cafe, to deliver graduate courses and programs. The Academic Systems Administrator leads the effective implementation and ongoing maintenance of both the LMS and SIS environments, maintaining a seamless learning experience for students. Primary responsibilities include optimizing LMS and SIS performance, documenting the operation and support processes and procedures related to the applications and environments, investigating and resolving application and server environment errors, and collaborating with applicable stakeholders for the day-to-day operational support for both systems. An experienced, creative, and collaborative Academic Systems Administrator will play a pivotal role in the future success of The Art of Education University, ensuring that courses, programs, and student information deliver a high-quality teaching and learning experience.
POSITION DETAILS
It is structured as a remote full-time, salaried position. This position will report to the Chief Academic Officer.
We have been a 100% remote company since the beginning! This position is eligible to remote work from the following locations: USA.

The Details
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
System Administration
Oversee the daily operations of the learning management and student information systems.
Research, evaluate, test, integrate, update, manage, and resolve issues related to the LMS, SIS, and other system integrations, escalating to vendors as needed.
Troubleshoot system, course, and end-user issues.
Create and maintain documentation.
Enhance the user experience by regularly improving platform design, adopting new features, and tracking industry trends.
Develop standards and best practices for course authoring.
Design and implement policies, roles, and permissions to promote system security and data integrity.
Create and maintain HTML templates for building courses.
Conduct quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Identify and manage the integration of critical new tools, such as anti-plagiarism and identity verification software.
Utilize data analysis tools.
Research, test, and evaluate updates before moving to the production server
Faculty, Staff, and Student Consulting, Support, and Training
Create and maintain resources to train faculty, staff, and students on how to use learning management and student information systems.
Provide Tier 1-3 technical support to faculty members, staff, and students.
Support the design of new courses and learning assets by advising instructional designers on platform capabilities.
Other
Assist and collaborate with members of the academic division.
Interact and collaborate with vendors.
Participate in D2L Brightspace and Campus Cafe user communities and administration user groups.
Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
2 - 4 years of related experience
Experience with D2L’s Brightspace or other learning management systems
Experience with Campus Cafe or other student information systems
Experience with web development, including HTML, preferred
Experience in higher education preferred
Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in technology, business, education, or related areas preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to view computer screens for significant periods. The Art of Education University is an online university; 95-98% of one’s time will be spent on or using technology.
Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, etc.

COMPENSATION
Compensation is commensurate with experience and market. We encourage you to discuss your compensation requirements early in the process.
The Process
For most roles, the process is as follows:
Step 1: 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager
Step 2: Round 2 packet & Interview
Given that AOEU is 100% remote, this step is intended to see how you might work through some of the daily tasks, responsibilities, and challenges that could arise in this role. You will be given a prompt and be asked to complete an assignment which will then be used to guide a 1-hour follow-up Zoom interview with 1-2 stakeholders. The intention is for you to get a sense of the role and allow us to see your skills in action. Your answers will not be used for other purposes beyond evaluating your candidacy.
Step 3: Follow-up interview
You may participate in an additional Zoom interview for specific managerial or high-collaboration roles.
