Based in Cheltenham, Quantum Switch is an emerging Data Center construction company with projects around the globe.
The IT Systems Administrator works directly with the IT Director and others to ensure that the Information Technology and Security needs of internal and external stakeholders are being met. Specifically, the IT Systems & Security Administrator:
- Supports the day-to-day operations of our hybrid Google Workspace and Microsoft Azure production environments, corporate computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair.
- Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
- Establishes, maintains, and manages user accounts. Installs, modifies, and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems.
- Follows and generate procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
- Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.
- Provide technical support for distributed employee base in various timezones
- Participate in on-call rotation and extended work hours as necessary.
- Adhere to ISO 27001/27002 Information Technology standards.
Key Competencies:
- Google Workspace Systems Administration Experience
- Basic exposure and understanding of IT Networking systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Experience running Google Workspace Admin console
- Hands-on experience in Ubiquity Routers, Gateways, Switches, Firewalls, layer 3 switches and VLANs.
- Familiarity with Ubiquity switching platforms a plus.
- Experience supporting IP-based voice and video systems, including QoS on both LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Experience with MS SharePoint, Google Shared Drive and Google Sites
Minimum Education
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (or equivalent) is preferred but can be substituted with other training received in a structured learning environment. (Military service, technical certificate program, etc.)
Minimum Experience
- 5+ years of general Systems Administrator experience with a focus on Google Workspace
- 1-2 years of experience related to risk assessments, security policy implementation, general IT and security controls development, compliance readiness.
- Some networking experience would be a plus.
