Do you have 2nd/3rd line support experience? know the ins and outs of Linux and want to join a team handling critical application support... Then look no further. Pax8 are offering an amazing opportunity to join our Managed Support Team as a Linux Systems Administrator
You will be an integral part of the team providing vital support solutions to bespoke cloud solutions.
As a member of our Managed Support Team, you’ll be empowered to manage your own ticket queue, focusing on troubleshooting issues that arise across many of the partner cloud solutions. Working collaboratively and logically to problem solve, you’ll enjoy juggling multiple tasks, placing tickets with the right line for escalation while providing top notch customer service.

Lets look at what you will be doing...
- Incident management, responding to all types of tickets within the required SLA
- Acknowledge and remediate alerts that come through to the ticket system
- Handling customer phone calls
- Dealing with escalations from other teams.
- Monitoring backup issues
- Completing server patching, ensuring automated processes are working and issues fixed where needed.
- Assisting other teams around the Partner services function.
- Keep on top of personal administration, ticket reviews, internal meetings and timesheets.
- Drive your own personal development and performance improvements by participating in learning paths on Elev8, taking part in Pax8 L&D programmes, receiving peer or manager coaching, taking on stretch projects or on the job training.

Requirements:
Let's look at skills you need for this role...
- Reasonable experience with Windows, Linux, and OSS technologies.
- Recent, hands-on experience of deploying and running virtualized cloud services using VMware.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends (Azure, AWS or Public Cloud).
- Technical knowledge of Apache, NGINX, IIS, DNS, SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, SSL, SFTP.
- Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, server provisioning, maintenance.
- Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems
- Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as PowerShell DSC, Chef, ARM Templates, Ansible, and Puppet.
- Solid understanding of access management, administration, and application support.
- Solid understanding of modern authentication protocols and cyber security principals.
- Experience using help desk software and remote support tools preferred
- Experience in building customer and partner relationships.

- Your designated office will be our Farnborough site
- Hybrid & Home Office Working
- On-call rota. 1 week in every 6.
