We are looking for an experienced and skilled Systems Administrator to join our London IT team. As a Systems Administrator, you will work closely with the IT Manager to maintain and support our on-premise and cloud infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include daily maintenance and monitoring of all IT services, ensuring their security, availability, and efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
Infrastructure Maintenance
- Supporting 160+ users in the London office (95% MacOS)
- Perform daily maintenance of on-premise and cloud infrastructure, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and efficient.
- Monitor system performance, investigate alerts, and address any issues promptly.
- Manage and configure enterprise software and hardware.
- Ensure proper resource and capacity management, redundancy, and backup for VMware ESXi.
- Optimize WAN, LAN, and WiFi networks for bandwidth, security, redundancy, and coverage.
- Maintain storage systems, both on-premise and in the cloud, ensuring capacity, redundancy, backup, and speed.
- Ensure accessibility, security, and integration of cloud services such as Jamf, Intune, Okta, Office 365, Adobe Cloud, Slack, Zoom, Egnyte, Automox, Tenable, AVG, Digital Ocean and more.
Business Continuity
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure multiple copies of data are backed up and stored off-site
- Provide workarounds and fixes in the event of IT service disruptions
IT Security and Compliance
- Adhere to IT security policies and compliance standards.
- Complete required documentation and follow security and policy processes.
- Maintain up-to-date security control lists for all IT systems and data.
Housekeeping
- Keep user and group lists updated, purging redundant data according to the data retention policy.
- Ensure servers, cloud platforms, and other IT systems contain relevant and active information only.
Technical Documentation
- Create and maintain technical documentation for IT infrastructure and processes
- Update and maintain audits and run books
Helpdesk Escalation
Act as an escalation point for the helpdesk team
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of on-premise and cloud infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Office 365, Jamf, Intune, VMware ESXi, Networking, and storage systems
- Familiarity with cloud services such as Okta, Slack, Zoom, Adobe suite and more
- Experience in implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Strong understanding of IT security policies and compliance standards. Ideally worked in a Cyber Essentials or ISO27001 environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware, Microsoft, CompTIA) are a plus
