About the Role
- Work as directed by the Fire Control (FC) and Shipboard Data Systems (SDS) Lead Engineer to ensure the FC and SDS systems remain operational both within SWSB and onboard UK SSBN.
- Work as directed by the FC and SDS Lead Engineer to conduct Preventative and Corrective maintenance on the FC and SDS systems.
- Provide engineering support for SSBN and shore based SWS systems and equipment.
- Provide technical advice and support to TSPT both in the UK and at meetings in the USA as assigned by the Waterfront Associate Manager.
- Produce and deliver PowerPoint presentations in support of TSPT at meetings.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Knowledge and experience of the Trident Weapon System Fire Control and Ship Data Systems.
- Completed FC Supervisor course or equivalent at the TTF.
- Completed SWSB Waterfront Engineer Courses related to Fire Control and SDS.
- Familiarity with the Strategic Weapon System Maintenance Activity Control (SWSMAC) information technology system.
- Demonstrate IT skills to a competent level and have experience in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven Leadership Skills.
- Pro-active approach to providing technical solutions to emergent challenges.
- Able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to successful conclusion by due deadlines.
- Must be a confident and competent communicator at all levels using oral, written and presentational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience of the Trident Weapon System Launcher and SWSS.
- Completed Launcher Supervisor course or equivalent at the TTF.
- Completed SWSB Waterfront Engineer Courses related to Launcher and SWSS.
