Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University’s award-winning Sustainability team as Sustainable Travel Officer.

The Travel Officer will have a key role in delivering sustainable travel solutions to all of the University’s campuses, as well for business travel taken on behalf of the University, with ambitious plans to reduce the environmental impacts of travel.

The role will author and lead the delivery of a new 5-year Travel Plan, setting out plans for improvements across all forms of travel to encourage the increased uptake of more sustainable forms of travel, including active travel. It will also take a key role in the implementation and ongoing support for reducing the impacts of business travel.

You will have:

  • Previous travel planning experience in a large organisation
  • A proven ability to engage with a wide range of people with differing opinions/needs
  • Good written communication skills for a range of audiences
  • A proven ability to use your organisational skills to deliver small events/projects/initiatives
  • A good ability to analyse data to understand, monitor and report on trends in travel activity at scale
