The Agriculture team at Tesco works across the business and with external stakeholders to develop and implement our industry leading sustainability commitments to tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges facing the planet.

As the Sustainable Agriculture Manager you will manage and deliver Tesco's sustainable agriculture strategy within the poultry and egg sector.

• Subject matter expert, leading the development and delivery of the Tesco poultry and egg sustainability strategy with particular focus on environmental impact, continuous improvement on animal health and welfare and economic resilience to ensure our supply chains are sustainable for the future.
• Lead on the delivery of our external sustainability commitments that relate to our poultry and egg supply chains e.g. cage free egg commitments, sustainable feed commitments etc
• Working with farmers and suppliers to understand and address industry issues which could negatively impact on customer expectations and affect long term sustainability.
• Owning and enforcing the Tesco Welfare Approved Standards and supply chain integrity, from farm to slaughter.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration in our poultry and egg supply chains.
• Working as part of the Sustainable Agriculture and broader Sustainability Team, sharing learnings across our function and taking ownership of cross-cutting elements and projects within our strategy.
• Owning relationships with the relevant industry, research and NGO stakeholders
• Providing Tesco with poultry and egg supply chain expertise to help colleagues do their job better.
• Represent Tesco externally at relevant industry forums, and internally as leading subject matter expert

Experience:

• Degree in Agriculture, Sustainability or related subject (such as animal science, farm business management, etc)
• Experience within the poultry and/or egg sector
• Strong relationships with poultry and egg industry and community
• Delivering and sustaining change
