Sustainability Project Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our property team in a truly innovative and exciting role. Reporting to the Director of Property Services, the Property Sustainability Manager will take a leading role in delivering on Greene King's roadmap to carbon net zero. The successful candidate will be a sustainability specialist providing expertise and technical knowledge to the Property function and ESG board, interfacing with working group leads. The role will oversee Property based sustainability trials and initiatives from an implementation and benefits perspective. We have over 3000 pubs and a fantastic culture so this is a great opportunity for the right person.,
Key Accountabilities will include:
- Planning and programming of Property based sustainability trials and initiatives
- Working with Head of ESG & Sustainability Director to develop detailed carbon reduction roadmap for the Property function in line with near term SBTI and net zero commitments
- Development of sub targets within Property and across the functions and divisions
- Provide technical expertise to ESG board as well as functions and divisions to aid the development of divisional sustainability plan
About you:
We need someone who's passionate about sustainability through and through. A self-starter with a high energy level and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines. We need someone with the ability to influence and catalyse change to improve ESG performance of Greene King through the application of exceptional interpersonal, relationship building and collaboration skills. We will also need the following:
- Bachelors degree in sustainability or engineering
- Experience of delivering Property based sustainability initiatives
- Further sustainability or ESG specialist qualifications or training encouraged
- Experience of contributing to carbon reduction roadmaps for large organisation, ideally in food & drink/leisure
- Expertise in carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, bio diversity, water management and sustainable procurement in property industry
