Sustainability & Environmental Consultant

About the role

As part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Sustainability & Environmental Consultant to join our Asset Performance Services business line. On joining us you will enhance the existing environmental protection and sustainability consultancy team by providing support to project delivery.

As a Sustainability & Environmental Consultant, you will enjoy a varied role as you support, and at times manage, the delivery of Sustainability & Environmental Protection projects to schedule and budget, while meeting client and corporate expectations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end authoring process of material to define and capture sustainability and environmental activities. You will also have the opportunity to support senior colleagues with business development activities and liaise with clients and end users on environmental protection, sustainability and compliance issues.

In terms of location, we have offices in Aberdeen, Bath, Fareham, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Plymouth Southampton and Weymouth , and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required. This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

About you

  • We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible team members, who are experienced in applying environmental impact and carbon assessment methodologies and techniques to help clients meet their sustainability and environmental protection obligations and improve the sustainability of their assets
  • You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an environmental subject, preferably Sustainability and/or Environmental Management/Consultancy; Alternatively, you may hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering subject;
  • You will be familiar with statutory environmental legislation and aware of methods to attain, and manage, legislation compliance;
  • Experience in contributing to climate change and sustainability strategies is desirable.
  • Experience in the maritime and/or defence domains is desirable but not essential;
  • As much of our work is directly customer focused, your effective communication skills and ability to present professionally both verbally and in writing are essential skills for this role;
  • You will be self-motivated with a proactive approach to continual professional development. We value professional qualifications and professional registration with appropriate bodies, such as IEMA, and we can provide support, training, and tailored experience for you to achieve these, if not already held

You must be able to satisfy UK Ministry of Defence security requirements and be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
