About the opportunity
Poundland are recruiting for an ambitious Sustainability Data Analyst on a 12-month contract with the potential to become a permanent position. The role will be fundamental to supporting improvements in environmentally sustainable impacts across the organisation, so it is essential that you are passionate and knowledgeable about tackling sustainability challenges.
The role will be a hybrid role working two to three days within our CSC in Walsall and the reaming days from home.

What you'll be doing...
- Work closely with the Sustainability team and colleagues across the business to collect data for reporting
- Build strong working relationships with business functions, suppliers and partners to ensure timely delivery of sustainability data and information
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen data management systems and processes, including data collection, controls analysis and reporting
- Reviewing current environmental laws and regulations to determine compliance requirements
- Analysing environmental data to identify trends and predict future events in order to enhance delivery
- Support the development of sustainability-related training, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Act as a sustainability champion, supporting the implementation of sustainability initiatives and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need..
- Relevant degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability or a related field
- Experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
- Confident with large datasets, able to analyse data, spot trends, with the ability to speak eloquently about sources of emissions, emissions calculations, and data quality
- Understanding of greenhouse gas reporting protocols and datasets
- Be able to work consistently to a high standard with attention to detail
- Expertise in writing technical reports and undertaking complex data analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI a plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
