Sustainability Analyst
GSK has ambitious environmental sustainability goals to have a net zero impact on climate and a net positive impact on nature by 2030
In this role, you will work in the Global Sustainability function, taking ownership in leading projects and working alongside subject matter experts responsible for the sustainability strategy. The role of the Sustainability Analyst involves supporting and enabling the business in reaching its ambitious sustainability goals for Nature and Climate. It will provide the opportunity to work across a broad scope of disciplines within a global sustainability leadership team.
You will be part of a team that are prioritising and delivering GSK’s impact reduction on the natural environment and enabling us to prioritise action to achieve our 2030 ambitions. Working with subject matter experts on Water Circularity, Biodiversity, Land and Nature, as well as the wider business, to help them deliver improvement programs for internal and value chain impact reductions.
You will be generating data and information to be used to help prioritise sustainability improvements. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will be sourcing the data needed to support better decision making and presenting the results in an engaging way.
You will help to create content for communications and training, as well as contributing to the GSK standards, guidance and policy reviews that enables progress towards our 2030 targets
There is remote working flexibility in this role, however you would be expected to work at the GSK House site for 1 -2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Global Standards and guidance documents enabling an aligned approach and technical guidance support to subject matter experts
- Respond to technical queries and remove technical barriers to delivery, enabling business to achieve and accurately report performance.
- Deep dive on pertinent risks and external developments impacting delivery of environmental targets
- Support the running of the regular subject matter expert forums, training and communications
- Tracking progress against current and maintenance KPIs, forecasting performance, clearly identifying and addressing risks to delivery as well as opportunities to accelerate against targets.
- Collaborate with peer companies and other organisations to identify and champion opportunities to work across the sector to increase recycling / reuse of waste in the supply chain, as well as land and biodiversity collaborations.
- Maintain GSK’s value stream carob, water, waste and nature footprints
- Identify hotspots of carbon, water & waste and land & biodiversity in the supply chain to drive actions to reduce impacts
- Creating and maintaining reduction glidepaths
- Build repository of good practices and share best practice to promote consistent application

Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Environment Management, or related fields.
- Previous experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment
- Experience of working in a corporate sustainability function
- Experience of designing and implementing a sustainable sourcing strategy in the pharmaceutical industry, identifying high risk materials with direct nature impacts
- Ability to prioritize and deal with dynamic business environment.
- Work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving
- Confident in gathering, understanding, and reporting data.
- Capability to present coherent arguments to achieve the desired outcome with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to use data to back up assumptions and develop business cases
Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Familiarity with external Environmental system datasets such as the WWF Water and Biodiversity Risk tool.
