The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef and helps run and kitchen, they are the heartbeat during service.
We’re looking for natural leaders who are ambitious, love cooking, have pride in their work, and care for their team - like we do.
Leadership can be tough; we have high expectations and you’re responsible for the safety of your team and our guests. But it can also be a lot of fun, which is what we expect from you too.
The Sous Chef is responsible for the day to day kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. You will ensure your team executes Sushi Revolution quality standards and procedures.
You will motivate and lead your team to provide excellent quality food, run an efficient service, keep a clean and safe kitchen and create a great atmosphere in our restaurant.
Your Responsibilities, Skills and Behaviours:
Be Honest

Ensure daily due diligence is completed on trail

Complete all daily trail check lists

Complete all opening and closing procedures in the kitchen

Maintain par stock levels of inventory and prep

Maintain correct portion control to Sushi Revolution standards

Keep wastage to a minimum

Always follow recipe standard operating procedures
- Ensure staff follow rules and regulations on self-Inspection programs

Set up all sections to Sushi Revolution specifications
- Be punctual and ensure your team are too

Be a leader and lead by example

Always maintain the kitchen equipment and company property, report any defective materials or equipment
- Ensure proper staffing and adequate supplies for all stations

Find problems and fix them

Ensure proper safety, hygiene and cleaning practises are followed

Knowledge and ability to run all sections leading by example

Always maintain safe working conditions
- Be ready to tackle complaints and solve problems
