The Midlands Circumcision Clinic is a specialist, CQC registered, newborn circumcision clinic based in Birmingham. We offer parents a safe and caring environment in which they can have their son circumcised and we adhere tightly to the professional and regulatory requirements for such effective operations. We are keen to invest in our staff so that they continue to develop new skills whilst working with us.
The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and hard-working team player to join our growing team to help us deliver effective circumcision care. Candidates must have a background in healthcare, whether that be in hospital, GP surgeries, or community settings, and be willing to learn new skills. Training will be provided to fulfill the duties of the role.
Responsibilities:
As a part of the team, you will be expected to:
- Assist surgeons during operations, including the tying of a string to secure the Plastibell
- Set up the operative room at the beginning of every day
- Set up the equipment before every operation
- Sanitise the operative space before and after every operation, as per the clinic infection control protocol
- Perform administrative duties required for each operation (including paperwork for each operation)
- Utilise good communication skills to coordinate between staff, patients and visitors of the hospital
- Discharge patients when it is safe to do so
- Partake in stock checks to ensure the clinic is appropriately stocked for the booked operations
- Clean the room at the end of the day
- Remove clinical waste to the centre's main clinical waste bin
Induction and training will be provided to the successful applicant, including training on how to tie the string to secure the Plastibell.
