Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Fusion Housing.
FUSION HOUSING works across the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield districts of West Yorkshire, providing help for our communities to find and maintain housing through legal advice, employment support, learning opportunities, supported accommodation and local food bank provision.
Fusion Housing manages a number of properties in Kirklees, Calderdale & Wakefield for single people and families who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. We are looking for someone with experience in housing management services, or Housing Officers, to work as part of a team and take on responsibility for a group of these properties.
The role includes:
- Supporting people, finding out about their life journey and working together to make their goals a reality through support planning.
- Updating support plans and risk assessments.
- Providing support for adults who sometimes have very complex and challenging behaviours such as learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety and personality disorders and psychotic disorders
- Inspections to ensure their housing is safe and appropriate
- Encouraging individuals to build their confidence so they can create good relations with other residents and helped them to possess a positive mind
- Liaise with professionals such as CPNs, doctors/nurses, social workers. Collaborative working with teams of other people like social workers to make sure people get the right support
- Provide advice and support to people who need help with everyday challenges
- Supporting the needs of people who face housing challenges
- Resolving issues like anti-social behaviour or neighbourly disputes
- Being understanding and supportive when times are tough; you’ll become that friendly face for someone to talk and listen to, whilst supporting the client to tenancy sustainment.
- Having difficult conversations with the people you support; being open and honest about the challenges and putting a plan in place together about what to do next.
- Knowledge of the housing system and experience of working with people who may struggle with their mental wellbeing, substance use or staying out of prison.
- Variety day to day where you will be able to plan your diary when needed and recognise what’s important to the people you support.
- Sign-ups and re-lets of tenancies in your area
The qualities we’re looking for:
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a sense of curiosity and imagination.
- Someone who enjoys working in a fast paced close-knit housing team which is supportive of each other and happy to get stuck in.
- The ability to work on own initiative

Location: Dewsbury (Empire House) – there will be a requirement to attend any HOMEs properties in Kirklees.
