This role
We have full time and part time positions available in a location in Kenton, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role would be a central contact for residents in different flats, supporting with day to day issues, arranging social activities, supporting with tenancies, neighbours and providing support to individuals as required.
A sample shift pattern for a full time worker may be 8am until 8am two days per week (including a sleep-in), and one day of 8am to 4pm, or 4pm to 8am. For part-time, it would be a mixture of these patterns.
We are looking for people to join our permanent team here, to build professional relationships with the people we support in order to deliver the highest quality care.
What we are looking for in you
This role would suit someone that enjoys providing a caring and inspiring environment for the people we support and want to enable their independence.
You’ll be passionate about making a difference to the lives of people we support, and be prepared to work independently as the key point of contact for residents at the location.
Experience of support work is an advantage, but not essential and we would work to train the right candidate.
You will need basic IT skills, and we will provide the required training to support you in role.
What would you be doing?
As a Support Worker you would have a varied role, supporting individuals with a range of disabilities. You would be responsible for:
- Encouraging independence
- Being available to residents in the office based at the location
- Arrange social activities at the location and for tenants
- Support with issues relating to tenancy and neighbours
- Supporting people to manage their health needs and liaising with health professionals.
- Supporting people to manage their own homes.
- Developing the life skills of the people we support
- Assisting with personal finances
- Supporting with medication
- Providing advice and problem solving when required.
