This is a rewarding and interesting role at our award-winning Supported Housing scheme, Verve Place to join the team as a Project Officer/Support Worker, within this collaborative and caring Young Peoples services team.
Verve Place is a supported housing project for 38 young people aged 16-25 and offers them the opportunity to make progress in their lives, to build resilience and meet their aspirations.
As a Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting residents to help them achieve their goals, develop independent living and life skills and build excellent relationships with residents, colleagues and professionals from external agencies.
Verve Place is accredited with the Foyer Federation meaning we take an asset-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.
We want to recruit a Project Officer or Support Worker as passionate about this as us.
What will my working week look like?
Our Project Officers in Young people services work on a 4 weekly rolling rota - Week A: 8am-4pm / Week B: 10am-6pm / Week C: 11am-7pm / Week D: 12pm-8pm, including 1 weekend shift in 4. The role includes some element of lone working and scheme cover.
Every day is different; you could be delivering 1-2-1 support sessions on life skills, reviewing an action plan, supporting a young person to a medical appointment, contributing to a multi-agency meeting or facilitating group activities as part of the learning programme. What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will be providing key worker support to our young people. Working through bespoke support and action plans, tailored to their specific needs, to help them develop the life skills necessary to move on, live independently and thrive in the community.
One of the great things about this role is being able to bring your own personality to the role. Our young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and we try to mirror that in our team.
