St Jude’s Care are recruiting for a Support Worker for Adults with Learning Disabilities in central Yeovil, Somerset
Full time or Part time hours available
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to deliver person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities in their own home.
Requirements of the role (but not limited to):-
- Promoting each tenant’s independence
- Prompting personal care and Medication
- Assisting with shopping, cleaning, laundry and cooking
- Supporting with medical appointments
- Encourage and support with days out and Community access
- Encourage and support to maintain family/friend relationships
- Encourage and support to maintain hobbies and interests
The ideal Candidate: -
- Previous experience working within the Care Industry
- Experience of working with Learning disabilities advantageous
- Would be willing to work alternate weekends
- Would ideally have a valid driving licence
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Must have a good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively
- Must have an enhanced DBS or willingness to undertake one
- Must have basic cooking skills
- Be creative and able to use own initiative
- Knowledge of the local area would be beneficial
