About The Role
Increased hourly rates! Earn £11.34 - £12.51per hour as a Support Worker!
Hesley Group recognise the hard work and dedication of all our staff, this is reflected in our pay rates, why not be part of the team and join us today
We are looking for a team of support workers to care for a group of three people in one of our homes at The Paddocks, in Wadworth, Doncaster. We’ll call our young people James, Lily and Tom*.
We are looking for people who are a good match in terms of personalities and have similar interests to our people.
You will be kept busy each week with Lily as she enjoys lots of physical activity such as walking, trampolining and swimming. If you enjoy keeping fit then you could be a great match! Lily likes her own independence but would rely on you to provide reassurance when she needs it. Lily’s routine and personal belongings are important to her so as her support worker you would need to make sure you understand her routine and are patient when explaining things.
Tom loves all things tech, and is a whizz on his iPad and YouTube. He also enjoys storytelling and listening to stories and enjoys going on walks where you can share different stories together. You will need to be adaptable to how Tom feels each day and provide Tom with reassurance. Tom’s family is really important to him so will need you to support him when he is communicating with them. If you are patient, have a creative streak, a love of walking and a brilliant imagination why not put it to use to support Tom?
James loves celebrating birthdays with his family and friends and experiencing new fun activities. James likes to be kept busy during the week with a variety of different things to do, so it is important that James has a routine that you understand and support him with. This helps James feel safe which is really important to him.
Our shift times are:
Days 7:10am – 3:55pm
Afters 2:45pm – 9:30pm
It is a flexible rota running over 6 weeks, with no fixed pattern to shifts, for example you may work 2 days 1 afters then have 2 days off off, or work 3 afters then have 4 days off for example. You will work 14 day shifts and 14 afternoon shifts and will get 14 days off in the six week period.
Preferred days off can be put onto the communication board for the manager who will then try and accommodate the requests.
- Lily, Tom and James are not their real names
