About the Role
The role of the Support Worker is an opportunity for a pro-active person to join an evolving Care Company. We are looking for a dedicated and empathic person. The support team will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
This service in particular is brand new, it is an opportunity to be involved in something from the get go. The team will be inducted and trained in anticipation of the person we support moving in. The person will require support around their daily living skills, health needs and will have a diagnosis of learning disability and or autism.
We require a Support Team who is empathetic and non-judgemental, someone who has experience in behaviour that can be challenging.
The candidate we are looking for will;
· Demonstrate positive, proactive and organised people skills, that will support and develop the skills of the Support Workers. This will include recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management and sickness and absence management.
· Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well lead support and care is delivered at all times. You will complete evidence based supervisions and observation supervisions as well as supporting your team of support works to complete competency based appraisals.
· Support the Service Manager/Deputy Manager in managing transitions into and away from the service. You will be able to liaise professionally with all outside professional agencies, and ensure that all information is shared appropriately.
· Ensure that all the people we support have person centred support/care plans. You will be able to create and update these plans as per any changes that are required.
· Empower the people we support to be actively involved in their own goal setting.
· To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records. Working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.
· Demonstrate sound knowledge of Microsoft office to include word, excel and PowerPoint. You will have the skills to scan documents as well as email documents where needed.
· To fully understand and ensure your team understand, the principles of 'safeguarding vulnerable adults'.
· You will advocate for and protect the best interests of the individuals within the boundaries of the Mental Capacity Act.
· Having a driving licence is desirable.
Whilst experience is not essential as full training will be provided we also welcome experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker.
