Support Worker (Supported Living)
Medway Adult Social Care is proud of its well established and successful Skills development supported living scheme. Demand for the programme has always been greater than the provision can cater for. To meet the demand, we are expanding our capacity to provide high quality supported living working with people to develop the skills to live independent lives in their own home.
In November we are opening a new scheme in Borough Road Gillingham that will support seven people who have a learning disability. The scheme will be based in two brand new adjoining four-bedroom houses. We are currently recruiting support workers to join our experienced and dedicated team to provide a high-quality independence focused supported living.
The successful candidates will have the knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to the lives of people who have a learning disability or are living within the autistic spectrum. Demonstrable effective communication skills and a range of practical skills that support people to achieve independence and be able to contribute to an implement support plans, recording progress and adapting plans as necessary.
The service operates 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. There is a requirement for sleep in duties for which an allowance is paid.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to apply to complete the Adult Care Worker level 2 Apprenticeship.
