We are looking for exceptional people to join our friendly team in the Southampton area who can act as a positive adult role model to the young people we support. Sportfit support young people post 16 in supported accommodation who can display challenging behaviour, and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role
You will support in the running of the home including cooking, cleaning, and finances. You will provide a safe environment to support, guide and advise our young people to develop their social, emotional and physical well-being and ways of dealing with their behaviours that challenge.
The position is on a fixed two-week rolling pattern, that includes lone working long day shifts, sleep ins and weekends – averaging 42.5hrs a week and 3 sleeps ins.
What experience or qualifications would I need?
- Level 4 Diploma or equivalent qualification is desirable; however, training will be available.
- Experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a supported accommodation environment, or similar youth worker experience.
- You will be compassionate, resilient, committed to being a positive role model and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Flexible and able to work a rota which includes evening, weekends and holiday periods and sleep ins.
