Nottingham Autism Support Service is looking for a highly motivated Support Worker to join an already strong and skilled team to enable the on-going person-centred support of a young adult with severe Autism and challenging behaviour.
This client will require 1:1 support within the community. Experience and knowledge of supporting clients with challenging behaviours is essential. The hours required for support are Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:00 - 16:00 and Fridays 10:00 - 16:00 every fortnight on a rota basis with additional hours to cover holidays and absence.
Duties for the successful candidate will include:
- Encouraging client to make choices
- Travel training
- Provide ideas for person centred activities
- Be a successful part of a team where sharing ideas and developing skills is central to the role
Successful candidates will have at least 2 years previous experience, professional or life, of working with people on the autistic spectrum and will be able to provide 2 references to reflect this and be over 18 years old.
Experience in mental health and a certificate in health and social care would be beneficial.
