Location: Southsea, Portsmouth
Salary: £20,500 equal to £10.50 per hour (Rising to £10.90 upon skills assessment after 6 months)
Job Type: Full Time, Monday - Friday (37.5 hrs per week)

Minstead Trust, a leading learning disabilities charity based in the heart of the beautiful New Forest, is offering the opportunity for a Support Worker to join its charismatic Day Opportunities Team in Southsea.
The Trust is now embarking on an exciting new 5 year strategy aimed at going beyond typical support, delivering exceptional care with a focus on inspiring and influencing the community, further breaking down stigma and empowering those we support to reach their full potential.
Your primary role will be to assist the people we support with their personal, social and health care needs as required. Our support workers make a real difference to individual lives. We support individuals to enable them to engage in sessions, discover and develop skills, abilities and interests, make local community connections and achieve greater independence and fulfilment.
Job Description;
- To support individuals in a range of timetabled sessions.
- To liaise with session leaders to plan and organise sessions, resources and transport as required.
- To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing and independence.
- To support service users with their individual personal, social and healthcare needs as required.
- To work as part of a team but also to lone work in the community as needed.
- To keep and maintain records for individuals daily on the Nourish care system.
About you:
We are seeking people who are: responsible, motivated, honest, approachable, good communicators, committed to providing equal opportunities and quality support. In addition, due to our location a driving licence is essential. A Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social care is also desirable but not essential.
