Job description

Candidates must be male and speak fluent, clear English.

Experience preferred but not essential as training and support is given on the job.

Full time

3 on 3 off

Permanent

08:00-20:00 and some 08:00-17:00

This is working in a residential property with around 10 service users.

There is no personal care

Supporting in the community, assisting with everyday tasks, bringing new experiences to service users, making the home a fun place to be, exploring interests with the service users, supporting to maintain their space and the home, assisting with finances and other daily tasks.

No personal care.

Support

Support service users in a way which will empower them to live as independentlyas possible.

Adhereto all policies and procedures, protocols, care plans and risk assessments.

Actively encourage service users to participate in general activities.

Ensure that safeguarding systems in place are being followed and used for their designed purpose.

Protect the service users from any form of abuse and report any suspicions.

Encourage the service user to develop and maintain skills in a way which empowers them to control their own lives wherever possible.

Support service users to reach their goals and outcomes,encouraging them to take appropriate risks.

Assist service users with personal care if outlined in individual care plans.

Monitor changing needs with due regard to the dignity and privacy of the person, ensuring that any issues are dealt with sensitively.

Positively work with outside agencies who are involved in the service user’s life.

Prepare food in accordance with service users’ choice and dietary requirements.

Assist the service user with eating and drinking if required in a respectful and dignifying manner.

Administer prescribed medication in accordance with policy.

Handle service users' finances within the budget decided on and record all transactions as outlined.

Participate in all household duties as required.

Undertake the role of a keyworker, when required, attendall relevant meetings and ensure all paperwork is up-to-date and accurate.

Be involved in all aspects of care for the individual.

Ensure all complaints, accidents, incidents or issues are reported to the manager.

Ensure that all tasks you are responsible for are completed within the time given.

To provide a respectable role model for service users.

Respect the integrity of the company at all times.

Maintain confidentiality regarding all information.

Record

Maintain up-to-daterecords of service users’progress and provide reports as required.

Ensure monthly person-centred meetings are conducted and documented correctly.Develop

Must be willing to gain NVQ 2 or equivalent.

Must attend all training when required.

Actively seek out up-to-date knowledge e.g. that issued by the Care Quality Commission, policies and procedures, valuing people, Department of Health initiatives, Health andSafety, POVA.
