This is an exciting opportunity for a support worker to join the Synnovis Bacteriology team providing a specialist service for a range of complex patients. You will be joining an exceptional and dedicated team who always go the extra mile for the benefit of our patients. As a support worker, you will be responsible for housekeeping duties such as safe waste handling and disposal using autoclaves, laboratory cleaning, maintaining bench stocks, receiving deliveries and some data entry. We are a progressive, UKAS ISO 15189:2012 accredited service who provide a comprehensive range of investigations which include bacteriology, parasitology, mycology and infection surveillance for King’s College Hospital and the local community. The Bacteriology Department receives over 350,000 samples per year. The laboratory core working hours are 08.54 -17.00 Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work 20hrs per week (4hrs per day).

The Bacteriology Department is an IBMS training approved laboratory for the Certificate of Achievement, Registration and Specialist portfolios.
