Job description
We are currently looking to grow our already established and dedicated team of support workers at Rose Court in Luton, Bedfordshire, part of Priory Adult Care.
Rose Court provides assessment and support for up to 10 adults and may vary with learning disabilities, mental health conditions or autism. Some also have communication difficulties or present behaviours that challenge, as well as other associated diagnoses such as Epilepsy.
As a support worker, you will have the opportunity to be part of a great team and deliver an exceptional level of care and support for our residents. You will be supporting our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. You may get involved in exciting activities outside of the home too – our residents participate in day trips, leisure, shopping and much more!
Whilst it's preferable that you have experience doing this, it's not essential. What is necessary is that you're an excellent communicator. You're good at speaking and listening and can build strong relationships with our residents and their families. You can resolve problems, work in a safe and compliant manner, keep records up-to-date and follow basic instructions to support our residents' well-being and comfort. Always patient and flexible, you understand and respect the fact that individuals have individual needs.
Whilst drivers are able to take residents out and about, you don’t need to be a driver to work here – we employ many non-drivers too!
Our ideal support worker will:
- A genuine desire to work with this client group
- Able to work well as part of team
- Ability to build trusting relationships with the people we care for
- Able to recognise and maintain appropriate boundaries and awareness of safeguarding issues
- Be reliable, friendly and caring to help our residents achieve their everyday goals (including personal care)
- Be able to support in house activities and hobbies
- Be attentive and inspire our residents to achieve more
- Be resilient and help manage some behaviours that challenge
- Excellent communication skills
- Committed to maintain high standards of care
What we’ll give you:
- A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
- Brilliant, ongoing training to help you achieve more
- Support of an experienced and friendly team of colleagues
- A range of salary sacrifice benefits, cashback rewards, pension options and much more!
- Access to our Career Pathways, which will help shape your career with us – you can work towards goals and milestones that will take your career in whichever direction you wish
