Job title: Support Worker

Location: Redcar Rd, Marske-by-the-Sea TS11 6AA

Rate Of Pay: £10.42

Shift Patterns: 22-33hrs per week available, permanent , days or nights

Information about the Role:

  • Ensure that all care, assessment, and treatment is delivered within the clinical ethos of the unit.
  • Be responsible for maintaining positive links with patient’s family, friends, and external services such as care co-ordinators, Care commissioning groups and third sector services such as MIND charity.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of clinical practice is achieved and that the social care delivered to patients is of a consistently high standard.
  • Work closely with other professional staff ensuring a consistent pattern of care for each individual patient.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of professional practice and levels of care.
  • Help to ensure that the admission, leave and discharge of patients is appropriately and sensitively organised and achieved with the minimal amount of disruption to the patient.

Marske Hall has been purposely adapted to ensure the people we support can live and active and full life with 30 bedrooms across 2 floors. Marske Hall supports adults with physical disability or
long-term neurological conditions including:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Complex physical needs, including diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Hearing impairment and deafness
  • Strokes
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Aquired brain injuries
  • Motor-neurone disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Speech impairment

Necessary Experience or Qualifications:

Essential Requirements

  • Meet the standards set out in the Social Work England Professional Standards
  • Have working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983,
  • Be a registered Social Worker under Social Work England
  • An awareness of safeguarding guidance under the Care Act
  • Previous experience with service users who have complex mental health needs
  • Desirable requirements
  • Have working knowledge of the benefits system and involvement with welfare rights organisations or services
  • Awareness of the admission and discharges processes for patients under the Mental Health Act
  • Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act.
