Job title: Support Worker

Location: Battersea Bridge House Hospital, 1 Randall Close, Battersea, London, SW11 3TG.

Rate Of Pay: £10.42 per hour + Overtime

Shift Patterns: 40hrs Per Week Guaranteed, Full Time, Permanent + Overtime.

Information about the Role:

Working as a Support Worker at Barrersea Bridge House your duties will include the following:

  • Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
  • Providing emotional support for an individual and at times their families.
  • Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
  • Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
  • If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.

Information about the Service:

Battersea Bridge House Hospital is a forensic low secure independent hospital providing safe and secure assessment, care and on-going treatment facilities for 22 male patients aged 18 years and over with severe and enduring mental illness and additional complex behaviour. All patients admitted to Battersea Bridge House are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Support worker:

  • No experience needed for this role as full training will be provided.
  • However previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Domiciliary Carer or Senior preferred.
  • Caring, kind and considerate.
  • Passionate about making a difference in someone else’s life.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able handle sometimes challenging situations.
  • Fun, energetic and able to build relationships with many different people.
