Job description
We are looking for talented people with passion, drive and enthusiasm who want to make a difference to a child or young person’s life, to join our team.
You'll be part of our support worker team, working in one of our beautiful semi-independent homes across the South West of England. You'll be supporting young people (16 to 18) who for whatever reason are unable to live at home with their families.
The children and young people we support have often experienced high levels of trauma, neglect, and crisis in their young lives, resulting in them experiencing complex challenges. This can lead to multiple home moves and instability, leaving them feeling unsettled, scared and often unwanted.
We provide them with a warm, safe and settled place they can call home and where they will be happy and feel inspired.
No two days are the same, and this role requires someone who is confident, clear-headed and who will remain calm in difficult situations. You’ll receive all the training you need to do the role as well as on-going training to expand your skills and deepen your knowledge and you’ll have the option to undertake the level 4 diploma if you wish to.
All our homes are staffed 24 hours a day and you'll be working a minimum of 9 x 16.5 hr shift per month, which includes sleep-ins (paid extra @ £71.28 per sleep-in) as part of the rolling rota system in place.
In return, you’ll receive OTE salary of £30,393.60 (this figure includes approx. 10 enhanced sleep-in a month) and a £400 welcome bonus.
Other incentives include:
- Full training funded by the business
- 28 days paid holiday
- Pension Scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Excellent career prospects and bonus opportunities
- Paid overtime
- Christmas Hamper
- Birthday gift voucher
- Refer a friend incentive worth £400
- Social activities
What do we require?
- You need to be over 21 years old
- To have a clean driving license and use of vehicle with business insurance
- Have a natural ability to care and to be able to empathise and to look beyond the individual or their challenging behaviours.
- To be confident, composed and level-headed.
- To be able to work as part of a close team.
