If so, we have an exciting opportunity to work as a day or waking night support worker on a rota basis, in our properties in Sittingbourne Kent in which you will be there to provide support to the young people.
Next Generation Housing Services provides services to the young people who are care-leavers and are moving into semi-independent living accommodation. These young people may have experienced trauma that can lead them to display challenging behaviours to communicate with those around them. They require care from a reliable, committed, passionate and skilled staff team. This will support them to develop trusting relationships which provide the time and space to explore their past experiences, behaviours, and current situation.
The job role will include the following but not limited to tasks:
1. To follow policies and procedures regarding the running of the on call and handover service.
2. To provide practical and emotional support to young people and advise them professionally following safeguarding and confidential policies.
3. To maintain accurate and relevant information on a young person on a shift basis and provide a fully in-depth handover.
4. To regularly advise the Manager/Supervisor of NGHS of developments and changes in the cases and according to need.
5. To attend such meetings, in relation to the young person as required.
6. To contribute with the whole team in ensuring that people from ethnic and other minorities are not discriminated against in the access to services and receive services that are appropriate to their needs.
7. To be able to work flexibly and creatively with young people.
8. Commitment to equal opportunities.
9. Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships with a range of people e.g., young people or other professionals.
10. Able to travel to different place when needed
11. Help keeping the flat clean and tidy. Helping with laundry and household chores
12. Advice on Health and Safety issues.
