Support Worker – Wasdale Court
New Found Care are currently recruiting for a support worker to be based at Wasdale Court, Hull.

The role of a support worker with New Foundations care is varied and very rewarding, with no two days ever the same, your day will vary from providing general domestic tasks, attending appointments, cooking, day trips and even trips down to the local shops!
The individuals we support are at the heart of what we do, we provide enabling support to people with learning disabilities and autism to promote their dignity, individuality, and to help people to fulfil their potential in life. Here at New Foundations Care we want to promote people’s skills and social inclusion and we need dedicated caring people to be a part of our team!
Key duties:
· To provide one to one support to individuals to enable them to complete tasks such as housekeeping, cooking, domestic tasks, attending appointments, laundry and shopping.
· Communicate with colleagues to co-ordinate support and update plans.
· To develop and sustain a positive working relationship with individuals that you support.
· Record and document in support and health files.
· To ensure that individuals are participating in person centred activities, based on an individuals wants and needs. This could include swimming, trips to the seaside, local walks etc, based on what the individual likes to do.
· To ensure that personal care needs are met, there is a barbers in Dinnington which individuals have their hair cut etc.
Desirable skills/experience:
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels, including but not limited to, families, external professionals etc
· Good documentation skills
· Experience supporting/caring for others, especially those with a learning disability which could be experience through employment, voluntary work or family experience.
· Health and social care level 2 or 3 is desirable but not essential as we do offer training and recognised qualifications.
· For those wishing to embark on a career within care and don’t feel you have experience, we do offer a comprehensive training package and on the job mentoring from a skilled and experienced team.
