My Hope Housing is a reputable organization committed to providing safe and supportive accommodations for young individuals aged 16-18. We believe in creating an environment where young people can develop essential life skills, gain independence, and achieve their full potential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to 16–18-year-olds residing in supported accommodations.
- Assist residents in developing and practicing independent living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, budgeting, and maintaining a clean-living space.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment where residents feel respected, valued, and supported in their personal growth.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, promoting their emotional well-being and acting as a mentor.
- Collaborate with the wider support team to create and implement individualized support plans for each resident, addressing their specific needs and goals.
- Facilitate educational and vocational opportunities for residents, supporting them in accessing relevant services and resources within the community.
- Encourage and assist residents in developing positive social connections and engaging in meaningful activities.
- Monitor residents' well-being, intervening in crisis situations or addressing any conflicts or concerns that may arise.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting young people.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as social workers, educational institutions, and local authorities, to ensure coordinated support and services for residents.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young people, preferably in a residential or supported accommodation setting.
- Understanding of the unique challenges faced by 16–18-year-olds transitioning to independent living.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with young individuals.
- Empathetic and patient approach, with the ability to provide guidance and support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and situations.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures pertaining to working with young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of residents and program activities.
