Furber Road are looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about helping others to support people with learning disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives.
Our friendly home provides 24-hour support with all aspects of care; including cooking, cleaning, social activities, emotional support and personal care.
Because we are a small home, you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships with the five people you will be supporting and the established team you will work alongside. As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- To encourage positive self-image and maintain health and wellbeing.
- Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.
- Support people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
- Provide access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports clubs, social events and creative endeavours.
- Moving & handling and using hoists and standing aids
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature
- Being a driver is advantageous but not a requirement
- Be committed to delivering high quality care to the individuals
- Work well as part of a team but also independently
