The Role

We have a great opportunity for Support Workers to join our Independent Living function as we set up a new operational team. This is a great opportunity for people-focused individuals who are passionate about making a difference within their local community.

Please note - we have multiple full-time, permanent positions available for this role. We are recruiting for 3 x Support Workers at Birmingham Foyer and 2 x Support workers at St Eugene's Court.

As a Support Worker you will be a crucial part of the front-line team in our services. You will be providing support and advice to young, vulnerable people facing homelessness and helping them on the path to living independently. These schemes are home to low to medium needs individuals who may have previously faced challenging circumstances or have experienced trauma.

Shift patterns for this role will rotate between 07:00am - 6:00pm & 10:00am - 09:00pm with some weekend work included.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advice and support to vulnerable individuals facing homelessness.
  • Provide support to tenants around accessing health services and employment.
  • Produce support plans and conduct regular meetings with tenants to ensure they stay on track.
  • Engage with homeless services and liaise with the Intensive-Housing Management team when necessary.

Please note - you will also be required to use our in-house IT system to update tenant databases as well as issue and respond to correspondence.

Our ideal candidate? You will be a customer-focused individual who is passionate about making a positive difference for vulnerable individuals. You will be compassionate with strong communication skills, allowing you to work effectively in a team environment. Former experience dealing with issues around homelessness is also preferable.
