Job description
I’m a very sociable man and I enjoy speaking to people, so it would be great to have staff who are also chatty and outgoing. I have a very good sense of humour and I enjoy keeping to my routine. I need staff who can positively motivate me to keep me engaged with my routines and stay active.
I need staff who have experience with positive behavioural support plans who can help identify my triggers and are able to offer me reassurance. There are many things that cause me to feel anxious or distressed but my staff team help me to manage these situations.
I have difficulty understanding others views and I need my team to keep their requests and instructions simple and be consistent in the way they word things.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Support Worker within Gray Healthcare you will join a specialist team supporting an individual within their own home. We support people with complex needs, who may have a Learning Disability, Autism, Personality Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Substance Misuse issues, and people whom require support with their Mental Health.
You will be an instrumental part of the team and will receive outstanding clinical support, leadership and person-centred training. In this role you will support an individual to develop or regain life skills, assisting participation in community life by building strong and trusting working relationships.
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation. You need to be a team player with effective communication skills, be experienced in using digital records and care plans, and electronic rostering systems.
You will need to possess an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards. You will be motivated and have a can-do attitude, and work within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
Must be willing to be part of a back up rota.

I am a gentleman in my 50’s living in my own home, and I have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition. I have spent a lot of my life in hospitals but I have now moved into my own home in Whitegate, Cheshire, with the support of my team from Gray Healthcare. I’m currently looking for an experienced Team Leader to join my team. I have two staff with me during the day and night, to support me to keep safe and well.
