Position: Support Worker
Location: Darfield, Barnsley (S73 postcode)
Hours: 33 hours per week, days and afters shifts
Hourly rate: £11.10 per hour
You will receive a £500 bonus once you've successfully completed your probation period!
About our service
We are a 2-bedroom residential home located on a cul-de-sac in Darfield, Barnsley. We provide tailored person-centred support to the individuals who live here who have autism, learning disabilities and associated behaviour that may challenge.

We are looking for someone who can support in all aspects of daily life including mealtimes, medication, social events and personal care. It is essential to have previous experience working with challenging behaviour and traumatic brain injuries.

The role
- To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
- This role will include moving and handling as the person we support uses a wheelchair and hoist.
- Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
- Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
- General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
- As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

You will be required to undergo relevant pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS.
