Job description

We are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers for our Children’s Home.

We are a provider of residential care which focuses on understanding and addressing the underlying needs of our young people rather than on their behaviours and difficulties. We aim to create a nurturing home environment for all young people and staff. We cater for children with a diverse range of needs between the ages of 8 and 18 years old on placement.

We are seeking passionate individuals to help create and maintain a child-centred therapeutic home. The role requires a degree of resilience and patience for working with a vulnerable group of young people. Each staff member is required to empathetic, committed, compassionate and passionate to be able to work with our children and young people who are from dynamic backgrounds, cultures, ages and genders.

Successful candidates support young people to grow in all areas of their lives, work towards emotional stability and develop to their full potentials:

  • by ensuring that the home's Statement of Purpose is adhered to and that the objectives are met at all times & embracing the organisation's therapeutic ethos.
  • by working within the policies and procedures, the Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • by actively contributing to nurturing a homely, caring therapeutic the environment in which children and young people can learn social and interpersonal skills, develop a positive sense of self and build self-esteem and confidence.

The role is most suited to graduates of Youth work, Psychology, Youth work, Criminology or people who have had experience working with vulnerable teenagers in the community or within a residential setting.

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)
  • Support Environment: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
