Job description
Experienced is beneficial
£11 per hour and £45 per sleep in shift
Morley / Churwell area
Full-time & part-time options
This is a complex service so it's essential that you have previous experience supporting people with behavioural, emotional and/or mental health needs
-----------------------------
Who will I be supporting?
A young lady in her early 30s who has a learning disability, a personality disorder and a forensic history
She left hospital last year after a long stay and is now settling into her lovely new supported living home
She's a chatty lady who likes to socialise
She also loves animals, wants to volunteer as a dog walker and own her own cat, so it'll definitely be a bonus if you enjoy spending time with animals too!
When she's not out socialising or spending time with animals, she likes to play her Playstation and Nintendo Switch games
What will I be doing?
You will be supporting this lady to be herself and achieve her goals
She is independent when it comes to her personal care but appreciates some friendly reminders and encouragement
She appreciates prompting/active support with her meal preparation, medication, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry
During waking night shifts you will need to check on her at regular intervals to ensure she's safe, provide emotional reassurance if she's wakeful and encourage a healthy sleeping pattern
You will need a sound understanding of risk management to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries that will enable you to support this young lady to reach her goals
Specialised positive behaviour support and forensic training will be provided
What shifts are available?
Days shift with sleep - 10am one day until 10am the following day, with a sleepover shift included
Waking night shifts from 9pm until 8am the following day
Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure a healthy work / life balance
