'Ben' a gentleman in his mid 30's, with autism and learning disabilities, is looking for a confident and experienced support worker, who is able to work with empathy, and on their own initiative, to join his small, well established support team.
Ben enjoys various activities throughout the week - you will need to be enthusiastic and physically quite fit as Ben enjoys being active! He enjoys using the local Gym & Spa, the- peddle power; trampolining and walking. Every day will be different and Ben will certainly keep you busy and energised, as you work alongside him, enabling and empowering him to get the most out of each day.
Ben's support team have been supporting him for over 10 years - which is testament as to just how wonderful it is to work alongside him! His team, and their manager, know him very well and have developed an environment in which Ben is thriving. To join his team, Ben asks that you will be willing to work alongside his experienced team, whilst you get to know him, and that you will take the time to understand, and follow, his support plans which include a detailed and effective Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
Ben knows that the specific way he needs you to talk to him, and support him, requires additional and personalised training, and this will be provided to you.
In addition to the above, you will also support Ben with daily living skills, medication administration and personal care, if required.
Shift patterns will vary weekly, to meet Ben's needs and there is a sleep-in shift each day.
